My New Editing Software
I have been using EDIUS X by Grass Valley for the past three years, which was the latest version available as of September 2020. In October 2023, Grass Valley released their newest version of the editing software – EDIUS 11 – which I have now upgraded to.

These include the new AI Colour Correction filter, the all-new Acoustica audio editor (which allows me to add subtitles to videos when required), and Vistitle – an advanced animated titler that enables me to create stunning titles for your videos and cine films.

CHECKING VIDEO TAPE CONTENT & DURATION
Unsure what’s on your tapes? I offer a complimentary ‘Review Service’ to help. You’re welcome to visit my studio, where I will play the tapes for you. You can then decide whether you’d like a particular tape transferred.
As my pricing is based on the actual duration of the footage rather than the number of tapes, I will time each one to provide you with an accurate quote.
Please note: I only transfer home video footage. Any television programmes on the tapes will not be transferred unless specifically requested.
What are the benefits of charging by tape duration rather than per tape.
In many cases, when customers bring me their tapes, a three-hour video tape may contain only 30 minutes of actual footage. For example, if you have four tapes with just 30 minutes each, and I charged £7.50 per tape, the total cost would be £30.00.
However, if you check my price list, you’ll see that I charge £19.00 for the first 2-hour DVD. This means I can transfer all four 30-minute videos onto a single DVD for just £19.00 — saving you money compared to paying per tape.

Checking the Content of Your Cine Films
Some people may not be certain what their cine films contain — especially if they haven’t been viewed in many years. To help with this, I offer a complimentary ‘Review Service’. You’re very welcome to visit my studio, where I will play the films for you using professional equipment. This allows you to review the content and decide which reels you’d like to have it transferred.
This service is completely free and gives you peace of mind before committing to a transfer. Whether it’s precious family memories, holidays, or special events, you’ll have the opportunity to see exactly what’s on each reel before making any decisions.
