CHECKING VIDEO TAPE CONTENT & DURATION
Some people may not know for sure what their tapes contain. For this reason, I offer a ‘Review Service’. This is a FREE service. You are welcome to come to my studio I will play the tapes for you and you can decide if you want that particular tape on the DVD or USB or not. As my prices are not per tape and are based on actual footage duration I will run the timings of them so that you get an exact price. I only transfer home video footage, if there are TV programmes on the tape this is not transferred unless asked for.
THE RISKS OF VIDEO TRANSFERS
Sadly when tranferring old videos to DVD or USB it does come with some risks. There are chemicals on the video tapes and after time these chemicals can emulsify and stick the tape together, and when you put the tape into the video player or camcorder and play the tape or rewind the tape or fast forward the tape the tension can break the tape. This sadly is a common problem with tapes that have not been played for many years. Also over time the tape can become brittle and as it runs through the players mechanism that can also break the tape. This is why its important to digitise your tapes ASAP to save those precious memories. PLEASE NOTE : MEMORIES 4 EVER TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY BROKEN TAPES.
VIDEO TRANSFER OPTIONS
Basic Transfer
This transfer is a straight copy from your video to the DVD or USB and what ever the quality of your video is will be the same as what goes onto the DVD or USB. The cost is £19.00 for the 1st 2hr Video and then £14.00 for the 2nd and subsequent 2hr video. However if say for example you have 4 videos with only 30 mins on each tape they will make up your first 2hr video at £19.00 and then a 2nd lot of 4 videos with 30 mins on each will make your 2nd 2hr video at £14.00 If your videos are longer than 2hrs add £5.00 for every extra 30 mins of footage.

Your videos will be edited by removing any film grain, i will colour correct the footage if the colour has faded and remove any blank spaces inbetween recordings. I will also add titles if required and will add full chapter menus if going to DVD. The cost is £32.00 for the 1st 2hr Video and then £22.00 for the 2nd and subsequent 2hr video. However if say for example you have 4 videos with only 30 mins on each tape they will make up your first 2hr video at £32.00 and then a 2nd lot of 4 videos with 30 mins on each will make your 2nd 2hr video at £22.00 If your videos are longer than 2hrs add £5.00 for every extra 30 mins of footage.
UPSCALE TO HD & 4K
I will upscale your videos to either HD or 4K using Video AI 7. This will give your films exceptional detail & clarity, this is a very time consuming transfer and is charged at £50.00 per hour of footage.
PLEASE NOTE : WHEN UPSCALING YOUR VIDEOS THE QUALITY OF THE UPSCALE DEPENDS ON THE ORIGINAL QUALITY OF YOUR VIDEOS, FOR EXAMPLE IF YOU HAVE A PIECE OF VIDEO FOOTAGE OF A PERSON AND THEY ARE FAR AWAY OR THE ORIGINAL IMAGE IS BLURRY THE AI SOFTWARE TRYS TO GUESS WHAT THE IMAGE IS AND IT CAN DO SOME STRANGE THINGS TO PEOPLES FACES, IF THE ORIGINAL IMAGE IS NOT GOOD IN THE FIRST PLACE THIS IS THE TRADE OFF. HOWEVER APART FROM THIS THE AI SOFTWARE DOES A FANTASTIC JOB OVERALL.
